On June 27, 1980, Dodgers pitcher Jerry Reuss pitched a no hitter against the Giants. The only thing that prevented Reuss from throwing a perfect game was a first inning error by Dodgers SS Bill Russell. Russell made a throwing error on a routine grounder by Jack Clark in the first inning.
