Sorry for the lateness today. The daily stats notes will sometimes be late. But, normally, the tournament recap and Baseball Time Machine should come out early in the morning. However, I forgot to schedule the Baseball Time Machine this morning and then it turned out that I thought the tournament recap was also completed. But, it was far from that. So, this is going to be the first time that we haven’t had a tournament recap in a day. To make up for that, in addition to free Tuesday and Thursday, for the free subscribers, I’m also adding a free Wednesday.

11. In his first AB on Monday, set a career high with 102 AB without a homer. He then broke that drought in his second AB.
12. Cal Raleigh has homered in 4 consecutive games for the first time in his career.
They were all in games in which he caught. He did homer in five consecutive games as a catcher from April 11-17, but he did have an 0-for-5 game as a DH in between games 3 and 4 of the homer as a catcher streak.
Raleigh is also the first Mariner to hit 10+ HR in three consecutive months.
13. The Mariners have scored 7+ runs in 4 straight games for the first time since April 5-8, 2019.
14. The Diamondbacks 10-0 win over the White Sox was just their second shutout win in which they scored 10+ runs since the start of the 2018 season. They had a 17-0 win over the Nationals on July 30, 2024.
Since 2018, every team in the majors has had at least 3 such games except the Diamondbacks, Marlins, Padres, Rangers and Rockies, who all only have 2.
15. The Diamondbacks became the 6th team to have 10+ games of 10+ runs.

15. Ketel Marte has had 3+ hits in each of the last four games in which he’s started. On Sunday, he was out of the lineup but made an out as a pinch-hitter in his only AB.
16. Nick Gonzalez had the first 5 hit game of his career.
17. Zach Neto’s 6 leadoff homers this season are 1 behind Brian Downing’s franchise record (1987).
18. Manny Machado passed Luis Gonzalez and Lee May and tied Greg Vaughn for 93rd place on the all-time HR list, with 355.
19. James Wood played in Petco Park for the first time in his career. He was one of the players the Padres sent to the Nationals as part of their Juan Soto trade.

Soto: .254/.391/.487, .878 OPS, 17 HR, 31 RBI, 55 runs
20. The Cardinals hit 4 2-run homers against the Cubs. It was the first time they’ve had 4 homers with runners on base since May 18, 2023.
The Cardinals are just tied for 20th in the majors with 78 HR, but they are the only team in MLB who has hit a majority of their homers with runners on base.

Marlins, 31 of 66 (47.0%)
Rays, 39 of 84 (46.4%)
Brewers, 33 of 72 (45.8%)
21. The Cubs, who allowed those HR to the Cardinals, have given up 17 homers in their last 5 games. They had allowed 16 in their previous 25 games.
Granted most Aaron Judge homers are no-doubters, but some of 92 opposite field homers had to have been Yankee Stadium gift shots that would not have left any other ballpark.
