DAILY BASEBALL STATS: JUNE 27, 2025

1. Dietrich Enns threw 5 shutout innings in a start for the Tigers. He had gone 1,371 days in between major league appearances since 2021. But, that’s not even the longest stretch of his career. He went 1,453 days between appearances from 2017-21.

2. That was the Tigers’ 8th shutout of the season. Only the Padres (13) and Guardians (9) have more. They had 10 all of last season.

The Tigers’ franchise record prior to the All-Star break is 12, in 1969.

3. Kevin Gausman had his 3rd start of 8+ innings this season. Framber Valdez is the only other pitcher to do that.

Gausman and Valdez are also tied with 14 starts of 8+ innings since 2023. That’s tied for 2nd in the majors, just a little over half as many as Sandy Alcantara (27). Since 2023, the Phillies (34) and Astros (28) are the only teams in the majors that have more than Alcantara (excluding of course, Miami who have just 6 from other pitchers). It Gausman and Valdez were teams, they would be the league median in this category.

4. On May 23, the Mariners matched their season high 3 ½ game lead in the division, which they first achieved a couple of days earlier. Now, they are a season worst 6 ½ games back—a net drop of 10 games in the standings in slightly over a month.

5. Junior Caminero became the first player in Rays history to hit 20 homers in his age 21 season.

Caminero’s 27 homers before his 22nd birthday are a dozen more than Delmon Young for the lead among Rays hitters. He has hit 27 of the 74 such homers in Rays’ history (36.5%)

Caminero needs 3 HR before his 22nd birthday on July 5 to move into the top 10 among active players for most HR before turning 22.
