Game 1: The Giants jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 2nd on Gus Mancuso’s RBI single and had runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 outs, but the pitcher was coming up so Jacob deGrom escaped further trouble when Carl Hubbell grounded out to short. The Mets then took the lead on a Wilmer Flores 2 run homer in the 5th before Travis d’Arnaud and Lucas Duda hit back-to-back homers with 2 outs in the 6th. That was all deGrom needed for a 4-1 win in the series opener. deGrom (1 R in 8 IP, 4 H, 6 K, 0 BB) outpitched Hubbell (4 R in 8 IP, 8 H, 10 K, 2 BB).
